The Hotel Adalbert is situated in an "U" shaped building, which is the torso of the former convent founded by the Abbot Tomas Sartorius in 1668. The Sartorius convent is the oldest building, above ground, on the Monastery grounds. The building is dated to the beginning of the 18th century.
In 1737 construction began according to the plans of Kilian Ignaz Dienzenhoffer. The building was designed to be a hospital acquiring its present appearance after the demolition of it's north wing. From the beginning of the 19th century the Sartorius Convent served as an administrative building for the Monastery. After the 1950s the Ministry of Interior Affairs appropriated it. A new stage in the life of this historically valuable building began with it's reconstruction and transformation into a hotel, which bears the name of one of the founders of the Brevnov Monastery, Bishop Vojtech (Adalbert).
